Sarah Swindell's mention of creative careers in her lecture got me thinking about the development of cultural and creative industries in China.

The cultural and creative industry is a new concept introduced in developed countries in the 1990s, which has since evolved into a completely new development concept. This concept believes that the real wealth of the contemporary economy is creativity, which is composed of ideas, knowledge, culture, skills and creativity, etc. This creativity comes from the human mind, which will give rise to endless new products, services, markets, employment opportunities and social wealth, and is an important driving force for economic and social development.

The cultural and creative industry has not yet become a mature industry in China after years of development. Despite the help of the government, many people have not yet been able to correctly understand the real concept of cultural and creative industry.

In fact, cultural and creative industries are the replacement of old daily needs or ideas in your life with a new thing or perception to make it a better social progress.Take a good example of the cultural and creative industries. Before Apple phones were released with full screen, phones came with keyboards. It was an innovation that overturned the inherent look of your phone and rose rapidly over the next 10 years.

In China, cities are dotted with cultural and creative parks thanks to the government. But because cultural and creative parks are formed because of the government's top-down push, it is difficult to grow without cultural roots. However, the cultural and creative industry cannot be developed by investing in certain projects for a short period of time. The cultural and creative industry does not only need to support a certain enterprise, but also needs to cultivate talents and transform the whole society.

In China, the development of cultural creativity has to be in line with Chinese culture, that is, it has to be rooted in its own culture. As a new industry in China, cultural and creative industries have created opportunities and challenges for Chinese people nowadays. It is up to each one of us to figure out how to break the inherent thinking, ignite the fire of creativity and light the way ahead of us.
