A discussion on whether to create your own professional social media accounts

Prior to this module, I would regularly use some social media in China, but they were private accounts that were not used to showcase my personal profession. As I am an interdisciplinary student and had done little professional projects before preparing to apply for fashion, I did not plan to use social media to create my own professional social accounts.

However after going through the module I have been able to familiarise myself with how to design and run a professional social media presence. However, I haven't created my own professional social media yet because I think some of my current developments are not mature enough, so I hope to create professional social media to showcase my work at a more mature time.

Also, I am becoming more familiar with using Chinese social media as I can't use foreign social media such as ins in China. Because China has a large population base and its own unique society and culture, the number of people using social media in China is also quite large and has developed its own mature market.

Therefore, in the future, I will be creating and running my own professional social accounts on both Chinese and foreign social media to showcase my diverse work.
